A amazing Lady!

>> Friday, September 3, 2010

It's funny how God puts your way some amazing people. I'd like to introduce you to a dear lady named Rita. I happened to meet her at a wedding . As we were decorating the hall , I chatted alongside her as we worked. I found her to be quite interesting but honestly I do not know much about her ,except what she told me that day. As we were working away she commented on the Motorbike outside, I said that Goldwing? Her eyes lit up and she said yes ..that is such a beautiful bike she said.

She went on to tell me that she's always wanted a ride on one. I said really....well how about before today is over you get a ride on that thing. She looked at me , eyes wide and said seriously?I said sure as I yelled across the hall to my husband and said "Hey Hun, Rita wants a ride on the bike ...will you give her one?" and he yelled back sure!

So after the work was all done in the hall, we headed over to the church to go through a practice run, and then to dinner. After dinner I said Hun you ready to give Rita her ride? He said yup..come on Biker Granny.

Here are some pictures I'd like to share with you. Rita is 77 years old ( but I"d say young in spirit) She has had her share of health issue's that she's battling , which I will not speak about here on the blog. But I do have to share these pictures. Which I will copy and bring over to her house and have some tea...she lives in Winnipeg.

Morning ppl, its 4:30 am and I'm on here to vent about Dresses! Yes your reading right ...Dresses!
I don't like to wear a dress! I don't know how anyone else does!! lol .
I find them totally uncomfortable , I don't like people who stare when they see someone in a dress. Now do people wear dresses to get attention? I find that the FEW times I have been FORCED to wear a dress I get these comments ......WOW Your in a DRESS! You look GREAT........ugghhhhhhhh!!! I don't think I have EVER seen you in a DRESS!

The reason I"m venting is because tomorrow I have to wear a .....DRESS!  This is not just a normal dress this is a 300 dollar strapless, floor length gown! Something I'll wear ONCE. This dress is a bridesmaid dress, and I'm standing in a friends wedding party. The guys are so lucky that they get to wear tux's I"d rather wear a tux! Back to the dress.......I might as well be wearing black saran wrap! This thing is so snug in the waist, I"M sure I"ll stop breathing! Hey that could work in a good way............I may faint ..be taken out of the room, put in hospital.........get a glamor blue hospital gown ...LOOSE fitting of course ! Oh my this is sounding great!!

Oh and another thing about wearing a dress......this tummy tucker piece of equipment! what's with that!!! So lets just suck in the tummy more????? Oh my!! But one does this cause they want to try to make themselves look as skinny as possible ......if that's even possible!! But what if there are no snaps on bottom! Oh great ! Now there can't be any bathroom breaks cause how would one get to pull that thing up and down if its tight by the waist???? PROBLEMS....PROBLEMS!!!

So off to the store again... this time to find a tummy tucker with SNAPS ...wooohoooo SNAPS! OK that problem I guess is solved after 30 plus dollars! I guess we are now up to 330 for the dress! UGGHH!

I guess I"ll have to "suck it up princess" and put on the saran wrap , I mean Black Dress!

Thank you for allowing me to vent, I do feel better now :)

Well we are finally settling into the new house and enjoying it. Hubby loves living in the city, enjoys working his job. I have taken some time off to get things in order, not sure when I'll be returning to work.

We are enjoying the time with the kids and grandkids. I've had baking parties here at the house with the grandkids and we've had cookie dough in all sorts of places , including Leah the dog's hair! Wonder who did that!!!! All in all its been lots of fun.

The house is starting to feel and look like home, I still have some pictures that need hanging and I"m kinda holding off on that cause I"m not sure where I want them to go. We have some furniture we want to buy and then its all done and we can just love enjoying life!

Here are a few pic's of our place enjoy!

Finding Home

>> Tuesday, August 3, 2010

It's been quite something these past few months. We put up our home on the market and it sold. Then one kinda panic's cause you have to find another place which we did , back in my  home city Steinbach. Then the job of packing up and cleaning out one house began, and once the move happened , it was time for unpacking which I"m not done yet, but its coming along.

Each morning when I wake up its kinda like a dream, and I tell myself ....No you live here now. I did love my house that I sold , and I do love this one!!  So I guess in time, and when pictures are on the walls it will feel like home.

There are still boxes to unpack, things to hang, things to give another home to ,cause they don't suit where I've put them the first time..and I"m sure that will drive my hubby nuts cause He will think he had things figured out and then I've changed them. lol

Well that's enough ranting about the job I have to work on .... I hope your all having a good day, Its now time for me to whip up some supper, Hubby called and is on his way home.

Easter Sunday.

>> Sunday, April 4, 2010

Today in Church the Pastor talked about Forgiveness. It was a very good service. I had shared with him somethings that have been going on in my life. He asked me to share it with the church , so I did that this morning.

I spoke on how after almost 5 years of hurt , pain, loneliness, praying, I finally got to see my daughter and her baby boy. I have missed them greatly in my life.I had been praying that her heart would be softened so that we could connect again. I prayed that the hurt I had caused her would go away, I prayed that I would be able to see her son, my beautiful Grandson.

I told him how I've prayed for healing in my own life, God has worked so much on me.I have changed in many ways and have had lots of healing going on within me.While some members of the church have helped me go through this , one lesson I learned was that I had to forgive myself. That took lots of work, but I've did it!!

About 2 weeks ago I was Blessed with the right to go visit my daughter , I got to share important things that were going on in her life, I got to see her wedding pictures , I got to spend time playing with my Grandson. My daughter made a very nice desert , and we got to visit, She showed me jewelry that she makes and its really pretty stuff!  I bought some.

I  also went to visit my ex husband's mom. She told me that she loved me, I told her the same . I cried and said thank you from one mother to another ,for I truely believe that she also helped my daughter through her hurts and helped to soften her heart. We had a 2 hour visit. It was so nice to see her again.  I know now what it truly means to have a huge burden lifted. It's like now I can move on to bigger and better things.I know God is directing my path in ways I don't even know but its all coming together well.

I am grateful for the people in my life who have helped me.

First week of the year is almost ...GONE!

>> Wednesday, January 6, 2010

So one thing I have to ask you is how many of you made New Year Resolutions??? I don't bother with that anymore.... I"m tried of failing!! LOL

I think that if one just tries to live life to the best then they are already kinda setting a goal. To just pick one thing that you find hard in life to fix and focusing on it doesn't work for me. I find I have tons to fix, so just work on each Little at a time.

If I can get through a day helping a person in need or fixing a amazing dinner , or having tea with a friend and just being there for them or just spending time reading a good book ,or playing with the dog then I"ve done a great goal for that day!!!

I guess I just want to be the person that God wants me to be, instead of making a list and trying to follow it , I just leave it all in God's hands. He will direct me where He wants me to be.

Today was a great day, helped a lady out for a few hours , Now I'm just veggin at home before I go figure out what to make for supper. Tonight I"ll just veg out or I"ll see if my friend wants to go hit the walking track tonight ..oh she would love it if I'd mention that !!! LOL

I hope you all have a great day...evening....good sleep tonight :)

What 2009 has taught me.......

>> Monday, December 28, 2009

This has been one of the most empowering year of my life!! I've been moving along a road that was rough, bumpy, sometimes smooth, sometimes felt like I was about to go over a cliff! It basically was the road from my heart to God.

In Mark 11:25 And when you stand praying, if you hold anything against anyone, forgive him,so that your Father in Heaven may forgive you your sins.

I've spent time in forgiveness. I have prayed and let things go. In return God has blessed me in many ways. I bought a bible , It's a one year bible, I think it's one of the best investments I've ever bought myself!Every night I read my daily readings. I've learned many things through doing this. I still have lots to learn, but having God back in my life has done amazing things to heal my heart. In one year I'll have read the Bible cover to cover...which is GREAT! And then I'll do it again and again.

I'm reading a book by Charles Stanley, "Success God's way" It's a amazing book! One thing I've learned was to be Successful in this book is that you have to start your day with praying...What do you want me to do for YOU today GOD? Doesn't sound like much huh? But when applying it in my daily life It means LOTS! And it works!
I'm learning the MONEY isn't the way to feel fulfilled. That worrying about how much money you'll make in a year is what makes you important. Money will not bring one happiness! One should not always think how can I have more money. If people do that then maybe they should turn their thoughts to ..How can I have more of GOD.

Deciding to go to church was also a good thing that I started doing in 2009. I have found there are many people struggling with issue's that I was struggling with. I found hey I"m not alone! So I started attending church regularly. Now I look forward to Sunday Mornings, I love going to a place where God is present! I've made some very good friends.

Romans 8:31 "What shall we then say to these things? If God be for us, who can be against us" You are a winner, you are victorious through the Lord Jesus Christ. Begin to see yourself the way God sees you.

That was a big one for me to learn, I felt because of all my worldly screw ups I wasn't worth much, But I am a winner cause God is on MY side!

I have many friends from all walks of life, I appreciate all of them, they help me balance my life, and are in my life for a reason. I felt like sharing my thoughts with you cause I know you would want what is best for me. I believe that you care.

I wish for you in 2010 the best!

I know God will make 2010 for me ... AMAZING!!

Christmas ..so soon!

>> Friday, December 11, 2009

I"m sitting here thinking where has the year gone! Crazy how the time goes so fast. I've been busy this past week with work. That's been a good thing for me. I"ve needed it!

I'm working with a awesome woman , and its making my job very enjoyable. I"m learning that life is not as bad as you always want to think it is. I"m learning that we should be grateful , especially if we are gifted with good health! I guess sometimes we just need to sit down and say GOD has really BLESSED ME.

I've done my Christmas shopping, I didn't go nuts this year on the grand kids like I usually do, but money was tight so I did what I could and I'm happy its done. My stepson I gave early, I paid for his Driver's ed classes. So after buying for my grown kids , grand babies and there is 5 of them!! Plus Anthony... I"M DONE!

The weather has been cold ,Sad to say I think I"m getting used to it!! But this week I've been in and out so much , its not as bad as it was in the beginning of the week. Hoping for a heat wave soon though ....lol

Christmas will be kinda quiet this year, Not doing nothing Christmas day, hopefully I will be able to sleep in, I"m on call over the holidays so we will see. On boxing day I"ll make the turkey dinner , we are having friends over , so at least it will be worth making and visiting , and its not like cook for hours , people wolf it down and run to basement and then you get a hour to clean up. So it will be nice having some friends over.

Going home to mom's after the holidays. It's just easier that way. I'm glad my family doesn't mind doing our family gathering later cause when everyone wants the same days it just doesn't work out.

Looking forward to having Christmas with my son and his family. I miss them , and look forward to the time spent playing with the kids.

Enough for now ... hugs and stay warm !

On November 19th I went home to meet my newest grand baby, Her name is Kimberly Jolene. She weighed in at 7 pounds 11 oz and 20 inches long. She is so cute!!! Her sister Nevada was born with a lot more hair than Kimberly has but she has a head full of hair also. Brother Brayden is very proud to have another sister. So I'll post some pictures of these awesome grand kids of mine!!

I was going to post a picture of mommy with baby but those hospital gowns do nothing for the looks department so I spared her the shame ...lol

Tonight I'm heading over to the Personal Care Home Christmas dinner, I'm Mary's guest. Mary is a dear friend of mine. She's fun to be around and at 98 years of age still has a awesome sense of humor!!! We will have fun tonight with each other, Her children live outside the province and are unable to attend this event.

Not much else has been happening lately, Been doing a lot of walking and am noticing that its paying off :)

Will post more news at a later date.

Halloween fun!

This year was very special at my house. My son and his wife brought two of the grand kids here for the weekend, so grandma could take them out treating. We had a fun filled weekend. Saturday Nevada and Grandma went swimming , we were gone a few hours. The rest stayed home and I do believe they all had naps.

Saturday evening was filled with the kids going out and treating, while Papa and my son handed out treats here at our house. Nevada was dressed up as a black cat and Brayden was a pumpkin. They had fun going around for their treats. We only went down the street 3 blocks and the kids bags were full!!! Then I took them to Lorray Manor, its a place where the elderly live and they went in and did some visiting and received more treats ... all in all it was a fun evening.

Sunday they went with me to church, it was a good service and then we all stayed at church for a potluck dinner. It was Mexican food that the church youth group put together...was awesome!!!

Here are a few pic's of Nevada and Brayden , the pumpkins there family carved and brought up and also a friend of our's niece who made Bill's day when she came in looking like Gene Simmons KISS...lol

Been quite a week so far.

>> Wednesday, October 21, 2009

This has been one emotional week so far. I have a dear friend who's 98 and she just found out that her daughter has got terminal lung cancer, this is really working on her mind, and of course with her age confusion has set in. This morning she got up and told all her care giving staff that her daughter had died, they called me in. Her daughter hasn't died. She will be calling her mom this afternoon in which I will be in her room when she gets the call. This is to make sure she understands what's going on. My dear 98 year old friend still has her mind, which many at that age don't, but some facts get mixed up a bit.
This is hard to see her cry for her daughter, they live in different provinces. I don't mind being there for her, as she needs people close to her now.

Today the sun is shining, looks nice out. I think I"ll try to get in some me time and go for a nice walk later.See if I could loose this 4 day headache! I go to sleep with it and I have it when I wake up. I"m tired of it!!!! lol

Well that's all I have to say , hopefully things will get better they can't get much worse!

Have a super day! :)

Poem I came across.

>> Thursday, October 8, 2009

You are who you are for a reason.
You're part of an intricate plan.
You're a precious and perfect unique design,
Called God's special woman or man.

You look like you for a reason.
Our God made no mistake.
He knit you together within the womb;
You're just what he wanted to make.

The parents you had were the ones he chose,
And no matter how you may feel,
There were custom-designed with God's plan in mind,
And they bear the Master's seal.

No, that trauma you faced was not easy,
And God wept that it hurt you so;
But it was allowed to shape your heart
So that into his likeness you'd grow.

You are who you are for a reason.
You've been formed by the Master's rod.
You are who you are, beloved,
Because there is a GOD!

I just thought what a uplifting poem... so many times we look at life and say "Why Lord?" I know now that it's God who's running the direction of my life, not me. He has his purpose for what he wants me to do, I just have to follow him.

Have a great day! I know I will.

Poem to Mom

Poem to MOM
My son came home from school one day,
With a smirk upon his face.
He decided he was smart enough,
To put me in my place.

"Guess what I learned in Civics Two,
that's taught by Mr. Wright?
It's all about the laws today,
The 'Children's Bill of Rights.'

It says I need not clean my room,
Don't have to cut my hair
No one can tell me what to think,
Or speak, or what to wear.

I have freedom from religion,
And regardless what you say,
I don't have to bow my head,
And I sure don't have to pray.

I can wear earrings if I want,
And pierce my tongue & nose.
I can read & watch just what I like,
Get tattoos from head to toe.

And if you ever spank me,
I'll charge you with a crime.
I'll back up all my charges,
With the marks on my behind.

Don't you ever touch me,
My body's only for my use,
Not for your hugs and kisses,
that's just more child abuse.

Don't preach about your morals,
Like your Mama did to you.
That's nothing more than mind control,
And it's illegal too!

Mom, I have these children's rights,
So you can't influence me,
Or I'll call Children's Services Division,
Better known as C.S.D."

Mom's Reply and Thoughts

Of course my first instinct was
To toss him out the door.
But the chance to teach him a lesson
Made me think a little more.

I mulled it over carefully,
I couldn't let this go.
A smile crept upon my face,
he's messing with a pro.

Next day I took him shopping
At the local Goodwill Store..
I told him, "Pick out all you want,
there's shirts & pants galore.

I've called and checked with C.S.D .
Who said they didn't care
If I bought you K-Mart shoes
Instead of those Nike Airs.

I've canceled that appointment
To take your driver's test.
The C.S.D. Is unconcerned
So I'll decide what's best. "

I said "No time to stop and eat,
Or pick up stuff to munch.
And tomorrow you can start to learn
To make your own sack lunch.

Just save the raging appetite,
And wait till dinner time.
We're having liver and onions,
A favorite dish of mine."

He asked "Can I please rent a movie,
To watch on my VCR?"
"Sorry, but I sold your TV,
For new tires on my car.
I also rented out your room,
You'll take the couch instead.
The C .S.D. Requires
Just a roof over your head.

Your clothing won't be trendy now,
I'll choose what we eat.
That allowance that you used to get,
Will buy me something neat.

I'm selling off your jet ski,
Dirt-bike & roller blades.
Check out the 'Parents Bill of Rights',
It's in effect today!

Hey hot shot, are you crying,
Why are you on your knees?
Are you asking God to help you out,
Instead of C.S.D..?"

Send to all people that have teenagers or have already raised teenagers,
Or have children who will soon be teenagers or those who will be parents someday
OR ANYONE WHO'D JUST GET A LAUGH ...I love this One!! !

Nevada's Awesome Birrthday Party!

>> Tuesday, September 29, 2009

Sunday was a great day, Nevada turned 5 that day!!! Her Mom & Daddy went through a lot of work to make her day special. It started with going to Sunday school, then McDonald's for lunch, and Horse riding at her Uncle Jim & Auntie Sue's house. Then came her birthday party where she had some school friends,he play friends and their parents, and most of her Grandparents were there.

She had veggies and dip for all her guests, and of course Birthday Cake that her Grandma Briggs supplied. There was also Hot dogs , which we didn't even bother to make cause nobody was hungry after the spread we had on the tables.

She got lots of presents, and she loved everyone of them.

After everyone left I had the joy of helping Nevada spruce up her room with some decals for her wall I had bought her, also a new lamp for in her bedroom , she just loved it!!! Every little girl should feel like her room is special!

I played with the kids, then gave them hugs and kisses goodnight, Then it was time to go back to where I have been staying and get some sleep.

The next day I spent sometime in the morning with my mom. Packed up my stuff. Went by the cemetery and stopped by to pay a few minutes of respect to my daddy who passed away a year to the day. Then I headed back home to Dauphin.

I stopped in on the way home to see a friend from church, her family and the newborn of hers ...he's such a cutie. Finally in the afternoon I made it back to Dauphin.

Hubby called me asked me to stop by his office , so I did to be totally shocked to see him come up to me with flowers, they are very nice and I have them sitting on the kitchen table...thanks sweetie!

Well , I got to get back into normal stuff around here, So that's all for now. I will post some pics though.

When one has time.......

Funny how when one works all the time how things get left behind, like housework, or other stuff. Well I"ve had a few weeks to get things in order before my life becomes very crazy again. So I went nuts on the house this week ....hahahaha

It is looking nice , cleaned closets , stuff that hasn't been touched in years!!!! Dusted EVERYTHING and it sure needed it, cleaned in area's no man would ever notice, but a woman would ...haha

Feels great to just sit here knowing that its clean, Going to tackle the bathroom today, that will be fun.

Nice to see that the house if finally looking like it should be,when I was working just part time I could keep it in order, So I took the time I had now to bring it back, College starts next week!!!!! I'll become very busy again, I got courses through work I have to attend from Sept 15-17th!!! Just before College classes start!

I'm looking forward to school, getting the education that I need to get higher up in the workforce that I've chosen to get into...and hopefully moving somewhere else some day:)

Here's a few pictures of the re-arranged living room :)

House Got a Facelift thanks to Hailstorm

>> Thursday, September 10, 2009

Well time has passed and finally my house has got its face lift! There are still a few things left to do like vent covers's and new front light but I"m happy with what was done.

We have been so super busy, Anthony with his girlfriend and work, Us with working and going on Holidays to B.C. and also our mini trips to see the children.

We all went to the zoo last weekend and it was a blast even though it was very warm out, guess we shouldn't complain cause winter will be here before we want it to.

Getting excited about school, I know the course will help me further my job future, weather it be here in Dauphin , or somewhere else , only time will tell. Just pray that the money will come in to cover all the costs, and that my brain will still remember how to write a essay!!!!!!

Well I"ll post a few pictures now ...enjoy!

Oh My daughter had a baby ...he's the cuties little guy..sorry can't post his picture ..I"m not allowed to, but wanted the world to know that Baby Noah is here!

New Challenges!

>> Monday, July 27, 2009

Well where does one start?? I guess the saying goes "Your never to old to Learn new things" I have made the choice to go back to school. This experience will be awesome!! Not to sure how I'll like having homework again, but it will all be worth it in the end. Our family was sitting around talking about this and Anthony said to me , well it will be fun hounding you to do your homework. I laughed at him and said yeah we can do ours together!! He starts Grade 10 in September. He's majored in cooking, He loves to cook!

Around the home we have all been very busy. Anthony Love's his job at the gas station, he's doing everything in there including handling the til and takes on all the jobs without any problems. He Love's the pay cheques, all kids do!

Hubby has been very busy at work, and it's all going good. He loves his job and its nice to see a man get up in the morning in a good mood and head of to work. He's been putting in the time and is looking forward to holidays.

I have been putting in a lot of hours, in the last 5 days I have already worked a total of 90 hours! I have been working night shifts, clients hubby is in the states, He should be returning within the week sometime. I haven't seen much of the family while working these hours, Hubby's at work by the time I get home, then I'm off to work before he returns home. Anthony is working, out hanging around with his girlfriend or sleeping......oh that's so a typical teen!

We are getting ready for our trip West, It will be so well deserved! Sad to say we do have to put Hubby's dad in his final resting place and that won't be easy. I'm so looking forward to Mom ( Jackie) She is a awesome woman whom I've really be blessed to have in my life.

Hubby and I are looking forward to camping, This alone time will be great, and we really do need it. He's been really good about me and the choice's I want to do, In fact he's kinda been pushing it, saying you need to do something you love doing. Go to school , get your degree , you can do it! This is great that I have total support from him. Our alone time will be good to go over things we both want for our future, and its great that we are on the same page.

I am also busy with Child Family Service's , I really enjoy the job and the challenges that come with it. There are a lot of families in crisis, when going out on a case, there is one thing I have learned, NO two cases are alike! This makes the job very interesting. I guess that is what made me choose the course that I'll be taking, its a 1.5 year course. Ten different subjects to obtain my degree in Applied Counselling. If I really enjoy it I can then use the credit's from this course to go another 1.5 years and then have my Bachelor Degree in Social Work. That is the long term goal.

Well thats what's new in my world, It's a nice day out and I'm going to enjoy it before going to work tonight. I wish all of you a GREAT day!!! :)

We listened to a few different bands, and she was dancing with me. One lady came to us and took our picture ,we were sitting on a bench and then she asked to take one of Nevada. She told us they could be on the flyer's for next year's Jesus Manifest.

Here's some pictures of her fun event.

Had a blast! Took off early Saturday morning, we headed off to Regina for a night. Got a very nice room close to the Casino. Spent the day visiting with Hubby's mother. She's not well and will be going through a couple years of chemo/rad. It was nice to spend time with her. She likes the Casino so we went there for a bit. I lost my money and that's one of the reasons I don't care to go to the casino, but it was ok I hadn't been in one in almost 4 or more years!!! I don't miss them bells ringing ...drives one nuts!!

When we returned from Regina , we made a stop in Brandon where I had to get off the bike and drive a truck back to Dauphin for a business here in town. I'd rather have been on the back of the bike but oh well!

We are taking another trip in August to Langley BC and I"m happy to report I won't be driving anything for anyone back from that trip I am out to enjoy this trip without doing anything to change the plans and that's that!! lol

I am just relaxing now ... tomorrow starts a very busy busy week for me with Myra and as of July 2nd I will be working on call (Nights ) for my other job til July 12 th..so between full time days and nights the month will go fast but I"m going to be dead tired!!!Keeps one out of trouble I've been told.

Well,I guess that's all for now... going to just veg out til its time to sleep.I hope you all had a great weekend. Mine went way to fast!!

Had a wonderful time! Jaida our Grand daughter turned 6 years old,she had a lovely party at the park, lots of people. It was a fun afternoon watching the children running around, collecting stuff from a treasure hunt, and playing around.Jaida got a lot of gifts! Amazing there weren't doubles.
